Tacoma, WA (December 4, 2021)- On Saturday morning, a Tacoma woman died, and two others were injured following a rear-end collision near Federal Way.
The accident involved a minivan and another car on Interstate 5 near Federal Way at about 1:45 a.m.
A passenger, identified as 26-year-old Samantha Mararac, died at the scene, the Washington State Patrol said.
The driver and another passenger in the same vehicle were the two people injured in the crash.
Their vehicle was trying to get around a disabled 2012 F-150 truck on the road when a man driving another vehicle rear-ended Mararac’s vehicle.
The 43-year-old driver was cited on suspicion of driving under the influence and vehicular homicide, WSP said.
