Helping Our Community

We want to give back to our community. In that effort we: 1) offer training for Trial Lawyers in the form of a guild called Honey Badgers for Justice; 2) We speak at seminars and community events; 3) We provide legal briefing and seminar materials to lawyers who protect our community from those that seek to do us harm.

Honeybadgers for Justice

Honey Badgers for Justice is an invitation only guild of lawyers who represent injured human beings against insurance companies, large corporations, and the government.

The Risks of Direct Examination and the Power of Cross-Examination

Many of the most memorable moments from a jury trial happen during direct and cross-examination. Whether it’s your witness or a witness for the defense, powerful testimony can change the trajectory of the case, and your client’s life, in an instant. A compelling direct or cross-examination can mean the difference between a successful verdict—or a squandered effort.

Even the most seasoned trial lawyer cannot predict what will happen when a witness takes the stand. In the moments after a revealing admission or damning piece of evidence, too many lawyers lose confidence—and credibility with their jury. At these critical moments, plaintiff lawyers leave their case unguarded and their trial plan open for attack.

Leading successful trial testimony starts with anticipating the risks of direct examination—while using the power of cross-examination to drive your case forward.

Join Eric Fong and Ben Wells as they explain how to present evidence in trial using compelling direct examinations and devastating cross-examinations. In this 90-minute program, Fong and Wells share how they prepare for the presentation of evidence so that every detail in your case is highlighted, the jury remains engaged, and defense arguments are deftly countered.

Fong and Wells will discuss their time tested strategies for: preparing for trial (including case development, witness preparation and order of proof) presenting evidence through a natural, narrative structure; and making use of the differences between direct and cross-examination for maximum juror impact

Don’t miss this opportunity to fortify your direct and cross-examinations with two of the most effective and creative trial lawyers in the country. Don’t be caught off guard at your next trial!
