Tacoma, WA (November 6, 2021) – A collision in Tacoma has left one dead.
The accident happened Friday night when a motorcyclist crashed into a car at a Fircrest-area intersection.
The 24-year-old died at the scene. He was traveling at a high rate of speed southbound on South Orchard St. when he struck a car making a left turn onto Orchard from South Emerson St., Wendy Haddow, media representative for Tacoma Police Department, said.
The affected area was closed to traffic for several hours as the investigation continued while motorists were advised to use alternate routes.
Investigators blamed the crash on excessive speed.
