Spokane, WA (April 17, 2022)- A teen sustained serious injuries after his car crashed at high speed on State Route 291, Washington State Patrol said.
The 17-year-old attempted to overtake a school bus as he traveled northbound on State Route 291 at a high rate of speed when he lost control of his car, a 2004 Volkswagen Jetta.
The car then rolled over and landed on its top after crashing into the southbound shoulder and embankment.
The car was totaled but no drugs or alcohol were involved, troopers said.
Reckless driving was cited as the cause of the crash while investigation is ongoing.
