Kennewick, WA (May 29, 2022)- A firefighter was injured in a fire that broke out in a Kennewick home Sunday morning, Kennewick Fire Department said.
The incident occurred in the 800 block of West 41st Place in Kennewick.
Crews arrived at the scene and found huge flames coming from the backside of a small home in the area, KFD said.
First units quickly applied water to the exterior of the building when they arrived before additional units came in to stop the fire and search for occupants, KFD said.
The fire was brought under control within 20 minutes after crews arrived but it had done huge damage to the house and made it uninhabitable due to its severity.
The injured firefighter, who was earlier taken to Trios Medical Center, was later released with a minor injury.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
