Sumner, WA (January 24, 2022)- On Monday morning, a suspected DUI driver injured another driver following a wrong-way head-on collision on State Route 167 in Sumner.
The accident occurred in the southbound lanes on SR-167 and 24th Street East when a driver crashed head-on with another vehicle while going the wrong way, trooper Robert Reyer said.
It is unlikely the suspected DUI driver sustained any injuries, but the other driver had serious, non-life-threatening injuries and was rushed to a local hospital, Reyer said.
The wrong-way driver was arrested following the crash and is suspected of driving under the influence, investigators said.
Troopers are investigating the crash.
