Tacoma, WA (June 5, 2022) – A Washington State Patrol trooper was hit by a pickup truck while he was investigating a crash in Pierce County early Sunday morning.
The 25-year-old trooper, Pedro Martos, sustained minor injuries in the crash, officials said.
Martos was standing at a crash scene on State Route 512 at about 3:15 a.m. when the truck hit his own vehicle, Washington State Patrol said.
Martos was later rushed to the hospital and treated for minor leg and back injuries before he was released, Trooper John Dattilo said.
Officials identified the truck driver as 44-year-old Miguel Solorzano Cervacio, of Tacoma.
Cervacio was not hurt in the crash, which is being investigated.
