Bellevue, WA (February 9, 2022)- A woman lost her life in a house fire in the Lake Hills neighborhood of Bellevue early Wednesday morning.
Bellevue police officers first arrived at the home on 152nd Place Southeast and Southeast First Street but were unable to reach the woman trapped in the daylight basement where the fire was burning because it was too hot there.
Firefighters from Bellevue Fire Department later arrived and brought out the woman. They were able to bring the fire under control within 10 minutes.
The fire only affected the room where the woman was found, but her husband had no life-threatening injuries, BFD spokesperson Camari Olson said.
The cause of the fire is not known, but an investigation has commenced.
