Burbank Man Injured In Kennewick Crash

Kennewick, WA (December 11, 2021)- A crash in Tri-Cities injured a Burbank man on Friday.

The accident involved two vehicles.

A driver was heading south when a car struck his 1930 Ford Model Coupe on State Route 397.

Washington State Patrol said that Gerald D. Sleater, 48, was hit by a car turning onto Columbia Drive inside Kennewick city limits at about 10:40 a.m.

45-year-old Benjamin S. Kofoed of Glenwood was driving the other vehicle, a 2013 Hyundai Accent when the accident happened.

Kofoed was heading north on the highway and failed to yield the right of way while turning, the WSP said.

Sleater was taken in an ambulance to Trios Health in Kennewick. He was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, and his condition was not immediately known.

Kofoed was not injured, but he was cited for failing to yield.

The two vehicles involved in the accident were totaled, the WSP said.
