Early Valentine’s Day Crash Claims One Life In Tacoma

Tacoma, WA (February 14, 2022)- On Monday, an early morning crash on Portland Avenue claimed one life in Tacoma. The crash involved two vehicles: a silver sedan and a white SUV.

The sedan driver ran a red light at East 44th Street and then hit a turning SUV as he drove south on Portland.

The sedan driver, a 53-year-old man, died in the crash, Tacoma police said. The driver of the SUV and their passenger reportedly sustained minor injuries.

The accident led to the closure of the two directions of Portland Avenue between East 44th Street and East 46th Street.

Currently, the crash is under investigation.
