Elma Woman Killed In Grays Harbor County Crash

Grays Harbor County, WA (June 24, 2022)- An Elma woman died Friday morning following a crash on State Route 8 in Grays Harbor County, Washington State Patrol said.

The 27-year-old crashed her motorcycle on a guardrail before being hit by a pickup truck.

Troopers identified the woman as Rae Lounsbury of Elma.

Lounsbury was riding west on the highway near McCleary when she was ejected from her bike before she was struck by a 69-year-old Olympia man, who was driving in the same direction.

Lounsbury died at the scene, but the driver was uninjured, WSP said.

Traffic was diverted to McKnight Road due to the crash, which fully blocked the road for four hours.

The crash is under investigation.
