I-5 Multiple Crashes Kill Motorcyclist

Kelso, WA (May 20, 2022) – Officials said that a motorcyclist died in one of the multiple crashes on Interstate 5.

Washington State Patrol Trooper Will Finn said that a man from a passenger truck was rushed to a local hospital with undisclosed injuries.

There were three or four crashes on each side of the freeway, and each involved three to five vehicles, Washington State Patrol said.

The crashes occurred at about 2:10 p.m. Thursday at Milepost 42 near the Lexington Bridge.

A heavy hailstorm caused the collisions in the area, WSP said.

The collisions blocked both directions of I-5, but they were later reopened.

Finn described the crash scene as “dynamic” as troopers and detectives investigated.
