Mattawa Man Dies In Two-car Collision

Grant County, WA (January 2, 2022)- A Mattawa man has died in a collision involving two vehicles on Saturday evening. 

The man was heading southbound on State Route 243 near milepost 13 at the time of the crash. 

The man’s car then crossed the center line and hit an oncoming vehicle, Washington State Patrol said. 

The drivers of the two vehicles were taken to Kadlec Regional Medical Center following injuries from the crash. 

The Mattawa man later died in the hospital while the other driver was hospitalized. 

Both of them wore seatbelts at the time of the accident. It is still unclear if drugs or alcohol played a role in the collision as the investigation continues.
