Officials Investigate West Seattle House Fire

West Seattle, WA (May 3, 2022)- Officials are investigating the cause of a fire that broke out in West Seattle early Tuesday morning, Seattle Fire Department said.

The fire started in the basement of a home in the area before spreading to the attic, firefighters said.

Firefighters saw flames coming out of the roof when they arrived at the scene of the fire incident on 46th Avenue Southwest and Southwest Charlestown Street at 2 a.m. on Tuesday, officials said.

Crews were able to put out the fire later before clearing the debris and ensuring that the fire did not spread to other parts of the building, SFD said.

No casualties were reported in the inferno.
