One Dead, Seven Injured In Tacoma Multi-Vehicle Crash

Tocoma, WA (March 18, 2022)- On Friday morning, one person died and seven others injured following a multiple-vehicle crash in Tacoma.

The crash occurred around 7:45 a.m. Friday on Interstate 5 near South 38th Street in Tacoma.

Two semi-trucks and five cars were involved in the collision, which blocked all lanes of northbound I-5 in Tacoma, Washington State Patrol trooper Robert Reyer said.

The Washington State Department of Transportation advised drivers to detour via 132 SR 16/South 38th Street exit as all the northbound lanes would be closed for several hours.

WSDOT also urged drivers to delay or postpone travel in the area if possible as the investigation continues.
