One Person Hospitalized After Mount Baker Highway Collision

Grays Harbor, WA (December 19, 2021)- On Sunday morning, one person was hospitalized following a two-vehicle collision on Mount Baker Highway (SR542).

The collision occurred in the westbound lane, and it was then followed by a crash between a vehicle and a pole in the area.

Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office deputies, Washington State Patrol troopers, and Whatcom County Fire District 14 personnel were reported on the scene.

At least one patient was transported from the scene by ambulance to PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center.

The head-on collision temporarily closed all lanes of the highway.

The lanes were later reopened at about 9:50 a.m., Washington State Department of Transportation said.
