Seattle, WA (May 1, 2022)- Washington State Patrol said that a pedestrian was killed following a car crash on Interstate 5 in downtown Seattle Sunday morning.
The crash occurred on the southbound lanes of Interstate 5 between James Street and Union Street south of the Washington State Convention Center.
The pedestrian died at the scene around 10 a.m. after paramedics failed to resuscitate him, Trooper Rick Johnson said.
Johnson said that the troopers met the driver at the scene when they arrived but did not suspect the driver was impaired.
Officials blocked the two right lanes of the freeway as they investigated the crash.
