Police Identify I-5 Accident Victim

Mountlake Terrace, WA (March 13, 2022)- Police have identified a woman who lost her life in a crash on Interstate 5 near Mountlake Terrace on Saturday morning.

Yohana Ayele, of Edmonds, died at the scene, Washington State Patrol said.

Ayele was swerving to avoid a fallen mattress in the roadway near the 220th Street Southwest exit in Mountlake Terrace when she hit a semi-truck and died.

Ayele was driving a Nissan sedan northbound on I-5 at the time of the crash.

The mattress had earlier fallen off a pickup truck.

The state patrol is looking for the pickup driver.
