Bremerton, WA (January 22, 2022)- A 62-year-old Poulsbo man was found lying dead in Bremerton after being struck and killed on Friday afternoon while riding his bicycle on the shoulder of Central Valley Road, Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies arrived and tried to resuscitate him to no avail.
The driver responsible had reportedly fled the scene in an older grey SUV before deputies arrived.
A deputy later found a grey 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee matching eyewitnesses’ description in the parking lot of a nearby apartment complex.
Investigators contacted the owner of the car, a 28-year-old Poulsbo man, and arrested him without incident, KCSO said. He was booked into the Kitsap County Jail for vehicular manslaughter and felony hit and run.
