Semi Driver Cited For Unsecured Load In Whatcom County

Nooksack, WA (June 28, 2022) – On Tuesday morning, a semi-driver was cited for an unsecured load in Whatcom County.

Washington State Patrol Trooper Jacob Kenneth said the driver recognized the loss quickly, and no one was injured.

The incident occurred on northbound State Route 9 near South Pass Road at Milepost 90.

Kenneth said that the semi-lost two iron blocks weighed nearly 20 tons combined. 

The roadway was blocked as troopers and Washington State Department of Transportation officials worked on the scene.

The roadway was later opened at the end of the recovery operation.
