Snowplow Kills Pedestrian In Whatcom County

Deming, WA (January 5, 2022)- A snowplow killed a pedestrian in Whatcom County during a snowstorm on Tuesday night.

The victim died after being struck by Whatcom County Public Works snowplow around 6 p.m. on State Route 9 south of Deming.

The driver immediately stopped to help the victim, reports said.

Whatcom County Public Works Director Jon Hutchings expressed his “deepest sympathy to the family and friends of the deceased during this difficult time.” 

The incident is currently under investigation.
