Suspected Drunk Driver Causes Collision Near Puyallup On SR 512

Puyallup, WA (November 15, 2021) – A suspected drunk driver has caused a collision near Puyallup Monday morning after hitting a cable barrier.

The collision happened around 3:30 a.m. on westbound State Route 512 between Pioneer Way East and South Meridian.

After hitting the barrier, the driver left cables across the road and was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, Washington State Patrol Trooper Robert Reyer said.

The collision delayed traffic for drivers traveling west toward Puyallup due to closures of the westbound lanes.

Traffic was then diverted to Pioneer Way while crews repaired the barrier.

The lanes were later reopened about 8:30 a.m.
