Pomeroy, WA (July 11, 2022) – A British Columbia man is to be charged with improper road use, Washington State Patrol said.
The man, 65-year-old Lorne Knechtel, of Agassiz, British Columbia, crashed his motorcycle on Alpowa Summit on Saturday evening.
Knechtel was riding westbound on State Route 12 near Milepost 413 when the crash occurred after losing control of his motorcycle and leaving the roadway.
Knechtel was rushed to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston following undisclosed injuries he sustained from the crash.
Knechtel’s motorcycle was totaled in the incident, and he was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, WSP said.
