Two People Escape Death In Bellevue Home Collapse

Bellevue, WA (January 17, 2022)- Two people have escaped death after their building collapsed in a Bellevue neighborhood.

A pet dog also survived the incident which occurred near Forest Ridge Elementary in the area.

The two people and the dog were able to get out of the home safely before help came and have not been allowed to return for their own safety.

No injuries were reported during the incident believed to have been caused by a water leak nearby.

Bellevue police are evacuating those within a half-mile radius of the collapsed building and asking people to avoid the area as it is unstable.

Some residents of the neighborhood have so far returned to their homes while others won’t be allowed to return until it is safe to do so, police said.
