Woman arrested after fatal hit-and-run

Tacoma, WA (November 25, 2021)- A family is spending the early hours of Thanksgiving mourning the loss of a woman. Their loved one was killed in a hit-and-run incident.

The fatal crash happened Thursday morning on I-5, just south of Portland Avenue.

Washington state troopers were on the scene of the collision and blocked off the highway for several hours. As it turned out, however, police said that after causing the crash, the driver immediately left the area.

A woman from Auburn, WA, was taken into custody in Lakewood after she abandoned a grey Jeep Wrangler. Since the incident, the highway has been reopened.
