Amtrak Train Kills Pedestrian In Puyallup

Puyallup, WA (February 23, 2022)-  An Amtrak train killed a pedestrian in Puyallup on Tuesday night.

The 28-year-old man was struck and killed by the train at the North Meridian Avenue railroad crossing in the 100 block of North Meridian as he tried to cross the tracks, Puyallup Police Department said.

Officers found the man dead on the tracks when they arrived at the scene around 10 p.m.

PPD identified the man as a Tacoma resident without providing further details.

The crash blocked many downtown crossings, which were later cleared at about 11:35 p.m.

The Major Collision Response Team is investigating the crash.
