Pedestrian Injured In Wapato Hit And Run

Wapato, WA (May 16, 2022)- Washington State Patrol said that a pedestrian was injured following a hit and run in Wapato Friday night.

The crash occurred at 10 p.m. on Friday when the pedestrian was hit and injured by a car while standing on State Route 97.

Troopers identified the pedestrian as 67-year-old Alviro Selam.

Troopers said that an unidentified vehicle was driving northbound on the highway when it hit Selam, who was standing in the right lane at Milepost 63.

The vehicle fled the scene while Selam was rushed to a local hospital with undisclosed injuries.
