Suspected DUI Driver Kills Two Pedestrians In Arlington

Arlington, WA (January 20, 2022)- On Thursday morning, a suspected DUI driver killed two adult pedestrians on State Route 9 near 204th Street NE in Arlington.

North County Fire and EMS officers and medics were on the ground to help with rescue efforts.

The two pedestrians were pronounced dead at the scene following life-threatening injuries they sustained from the crash.

The driver, a 28-year-old male from Stanwood, was arrested at the scene and taken into custody, the Arlington Police Department said. He is being booked for homicide and driving under the influence.

The Washington State Patrol, APD, and Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office were seen investigating the scene.

The incident, which occurred around 2:30 a.m. blocked both southbound and northbound lanes, the Washington Department of Transportation said.

WSDOT urged motorists to use alternate routes following the closure of SR 9 from East Highland Drive to Eaglefield Drive, which is expected to last several hours.
