Bellingham, WA (June 30, 2022) – Troopers are investigating a Whatcom County crash involving a motorcycle on Thursday night.
The motorcyclist reportedly died in the crash.
The collision occurred on northbound Interstate 5 at Lakeway Drive when the motorcyclist hit a median on the highway, Washington State Patrol Trooper Jacob Kenneth said.
Kenneth said that Interstate 5 was open after the crash, but Lakeway at the overpass was fully blocked.
Kenneth advised road users to expect an extended closure due to the crash.
The cause of the crash was not known at press time, nor had officials identified the deceased.
